I was stumbling around on old coding websites looking for inspiration and i found this old blogging website. it had a section where users could share their html and css templates for the site along with myspace and livejournal templates. i thought this one would be a really cute stand in for my personal website while i got my life in order.
since this was an old website and this code was originally meant for myspace, i wasnt sure if i would be able to track down who made this site to give credit. rest assured, it was actually fairly easy. thank you Alison Ho for leaving behind a clear digital footprint.
Alison Ho made this code for myspace on March 8th, 2008. she credited it under the name "crotchettheleper" and the brushes she used to design the site are now long gone due to time. which is so!!! ugh.
this was only a decade ago. im a big advocate for internet preservation and i hope people are able to recover what was once lost. sometimes when i fall into internet rabbit holes while reading old fanfiction or scrolling through old tumblr blogs, i try to track down these writers and bloggers.
i am almost always able to find out where they are now in life. however, a lot of them have moved on with their lives and no longer create or blog. i was really pleased to read that Alison continued on with her skills and now holds a BFA in digital arts.
